These cactus provide awesomely delicious fruits for myself and my boys for a few months each year. Similar to Kiwis but no tartness, the thick purple skin splits right open with a beautiful round and solid seed fruit ready to devour. no spines on these guys, all my boys handle on their own!
They also grow majestically to great heights and are easy to cut and replant.
Description per Wiki:
The Peruvian Apple Cactus, Cereus repandus, is a large, erect, thorny columnar cactus found in South America as well as the nearby ABC Islands of the Dutch Caribbean. It is also known as Giant Club Cactus, Hedge Cactus, cadushi, (in Wayuunaiki) and kayush.
With an often tree-like appearance, the Peruvian Apple Cactus’ cylindrical gray-green to blue stems can reach 10 metres (33 ft) in height and 10-20 cm in diameter. The nocturnal flowers remain open for only one night. The fruits, known locally as “pitaya” or Peruvian Apple, are thornless and vary in skin colour from violet-red to yellow. The edible flesh is white and contains small, edible, crunchy seeds. The flesh sweetens as the fruit opens out fully.

**Cactus are not perfect, they may have small flaws, we try and photograph all sides of a cactus including any flaws that catch our attention, but please do not expect every spine to be perfect, these are growing cactus and like people, they have character!
I fell in love with a Peruvian Apple Cactus I saw while scrolling through Instagram with a glass of wine, and had to have one. The Succulent Source was the first result in my Google search. I've never ordered a cactus cutting before and was way more excited about it than is probably normal. My cutting arrived in perfect condition (much larger than I expected! About 13") and after following the instructions for repotting on your website, it's now sittin' pretty in our living room. I can't wait for it to grow! I will definitely order from you guys again. Best wine-purchase ever!
This is my first time attempting cactus cuttings, and it's been doing great! It was approx 11" and already nice and dry upon arrival. Wrapped perfectly and no damage. I will definitely buy again! Thanks so much!!
Quality, healthy cactus came well packaged with growing like instructions. The cacti s exactly as described. Beautiful bluish hue to it gives it a great look. I'll definitely buy from them again.
I am absolutely thrilled about this cacti. I have never grown a Peruvian from a cutting before and threw this guy in my shopping cart last minute, but it's now my favorite plant of my entire order. It arrived WAY bigger than I was imaging (in the very best way possible) and is such a gorgeous color, I am obsessed. Within about a week and a half of potting and not watering it had already started forming thick white roots. Yesterday, the first flower began to form! I think I need like 30 more. Thank you guys for fueling my plant addiction and giving me the confidence to grow from cuttings- so much fun and so satisfying!
The packaging on the two Peruvian Apples I ordered was fantastic. I can't imagine they moved much, if at all, during transit. They both arrived in great shape and I have them planted in pots.I know these are slow growing plants, but I am looking forward to a long future with them, along with their delicious fruit.
