****It's Winter! and temps have dropped and our cacti have slowed down their growing. Per these reasons and lots of sales, our current available stock of 11-12" and  17-18" SP cuttings from our nursery may have a few flaws on or near tips.  These will quickly be pushed down the cacti side once they root and begin growing in the spring/summer(they grow from the top so any marks gradually move down the side), but sometimes a snail may have taken a small munch, or frost marked the tip of tender new growth.  We will  always do our very best to send the nicest cutts available, but just wanted to be clear on current stock(see pics for some examples).

Why cuttings?  Because it is the easiest way to propagate many types of cactus, especially ornamental columnar types.  It also is less work for us instead of having to cut, pot and get them established which saves you, the customer money if you want to experiment with rooting them yourself.  It's easy to do, a little slower in the colder months but come spring and summer you'll see growth!  Please see our Cactus FAQ on how to do this!

The San Pedro  Trichocereus cactus is a fast-growing columnar cactus native to the Andes Mountains of Peru between 2000-3000 m in altitude. It is also found in Bolivia, Chile and Ecuador, and it is cultivated in other parts of the world.

They also produce the most giant, beautiful and fragrant flowers imagineable! Absolutely stunning and equal to any flower out there!

The grouping pictures show the San Pedro growing amongst some of it’s cousins, a few of which we also sell. They are awesome plants, whether in pots or planted as landscape specimens.

**We make cuttings weekly but depending on multiple factors, your cuttings may need to wait to be cutt and or calloused prior to shipping, we try and ship cactus cuts out quickly but our #1 goal is they are dry when leaving and dry when they arrive so please be patient especially on larger # orders. **Lengths can vary by 1" or so, sometimes an inch less, sometimes an inch more, we always try and cut the healthiest/nicest looking cutting.  Email us if you have questions**.

Cuttings are cuttings, these are not show cacti, they may have blemishes, scars etc. as do almost all cactus unless very sheltered from others bumping them etc.  If you are giving these away for a wedding or birthday gift, please be realistic, and or email us in advance to discuss looking for a super blemish free cutting. Picture of the 4 below shows a variation in color, shape, marks etc.  We grow our cacti in full sun, partial sun, and complete shade, as well as in different soil types on our multi acre properties.  We've been collecting different cacti and succulents for 15 plus years, if you order 4 cuttings and all 4 look slightly different, it just means they came from different areas on our property growing under different conditions.

*** pictures also show how a cactus can have misc. scratches, scars etc. towards the base but new growth and new pups will eventually hide and lower marks.  Ocassionally a tip may have some marks, these too will eventually move down the sifde with new growth being blemish free.

Please read our FAQ on How to Root your Cuttings!
