Most of our cuttings have clean tips now, marks have gone down the sides a bit, but leaving our old info up for a few more weeks.

****It's spring and the snails are out full force!  We don't use pesticides or insecticides here, we have chickens and 5 boys and dogs etc. but we do have snail harvest contests sometimes!  Snails like the fresh growth tips, the munch marks will quickly move down the side of the cactus as they root and grow but initially some cuttings can be effected in appearance.  With a little patience, rooting  speed is picking up w/ warmer temps and new  top growth will be clean! Last 3 pics show old scar and 2 top cuts that have been nibbled on. WE Will always do our very best to send the nicest cuts available(some may not have any marks)but just wanted to be upfront***

Why cuttings?  Because it is the easiest way to propagate many types of cactus, especially ornamental columnar types.  It also is less work for us instead of having to cut, pot and get them established which saves you, the customer money if you want to experiment with rooting them yourself.  It's easy to do, a little slower in the colder months but come spring and summer you'll see growth!  Please see our Cactus FAQ on how to do this!

The San Pedro  Trichocereus cactus is a fast-growing columnar cactus native to the Andes Mountains of Peru between 2000-3000 m in altitude. It is also found in Bolivia, Chile and Ecuador, and it is cultivated in other parts of the world.

They also produce the most giant, beautiful and fragrant flowers imagineable! Absolutely stunning and equal to any flower out there!

The grouping pictures show the San Pedro growing amongst some of it’s cousins, a few of which we also sell. They are awesome plants, whether in pots or planted as landscape specimens.

**We make cuttings weekly but depending on multiple factors, your cuttings may need to wait to be cutt and or calloused prior to shipping, we try and ship cactus cuts out quickly but our #1 goal is they are dry when leaving and dry when they arrive so please be patient especially on larger # orders. **Lengths can vary by 1" or so, sometimes an inch less, sometimes an inch more, we always try and cut the healthiest/nicest looking cutting.  Email us if you have questions**.

Cuttings are cuttings, these are not show cacti, they may have blemishes, scars etc. as do almost all cactus unless very sheltered from others bumping them etc.  If you are giving these away for a wedding or birthday gift, please be realistic, and or email us in advance to discuss looking for a super blemish free cutting. Picture of the 4 below shows a variation in color, shape, marks etc.  We grow our cacti in full sun, partial sun, and complete shade, as well as in different soil types on our multi acre properties.  We've been collecting different cacti and succulents for 15 plus years, if you order 4 cuttings and all 4 look slightly different, it just means they came from different areas on our property growing under different conditions.

*** pictures also show how a cactus can have misc. scratches, scars etc. towards the base but new growth and new pups will eventually hide and lower marks.  Ocassionally a tip may have some marks, these too will eventually move down the sifde with new growth being blemish free.

Very nice

Got a very nice fat 6 in cutting in great shape still waiting for roots to take off, i will definitely order again. Keep up the excellent work guys!

Happy, happy mistake!

I ordered a couple of these San Pedro cactus cuttings because I thought they would be the same as a cactus cutting that my gardener gave me. Nope, it was very different. However, I really LOVE the San Pedro cactus. It's so beautiful. The ribs are thick and the spines are not 'deadly' huge. Nice, tiny spines. The packaging, as usual, was wonderful. You guys are getting me addicted! LOL

Thanks for your order Pat, it's likely your Gardner was wrong on his ID, maybe a Peruvian Apple cactus, send us a picture and we'll quickly identify for you! Thanks again for your Biz/support!
Happy customer from zone 7b in MS

I ordered the 5-6" tip cuttings. They arrived with a bit of mold/fungus on the cut ends, but being in a shipping box during the humid summer this is to be reason to panic. Thankfully, the seller sent cuttings that were an inch or two longer than advertised. I simply heat sterilized a knife and cut 1" off each cutting and applied a solution of star-san sanitizer to the cuts. Without touching the cut portions for a week, they quickly calloused with no infection and are now in their final resting place awaiting some new roots. I will definitely do business again with these folks.

Beautiful cuttings!

This was a 35th anniversary present for my husband. The cuttings arrived in perfect condition, ready to pot. I left it to him to deal with. I only hope he doesn't overwater like he did the last San Pedro that he had. I sent your page on caring for cuttings and succulents and he actually READ it. Thanks for the info and for the beautiful plants. I will remember your company for any more succulent purchases!

Great Service

I received exactly what I ordered. The cutting came ready to pot. I will definitely order from this company again.
