Big pot of Echeveria agavoides Lipsticks! Gonna thin out the herd (propagate) by taking cuttings from pups/offshoots. Upon closer inspection, you'll see smaller guys between, under and sometimes shooting out between leaves. Gently pull the larger rosettes to the side and snip stem. This is a great time to also pull out dead or mushy leaves, no need for them, as they are just a breeding ground for other critters!
As you can see the Lipstick will have red tips/lips, these guys have been covered for 2 months with a frost cloth but still visible. As temps heat up and sun brighter, they'll darken. New guys that I have cut out have been hidden from any direct sun and therefore will have little to no red on tips, it will comeback, it's in their DNA.
The bigger cutting had a lot of dead leaves underneath, pull them away and toss, give the stem some area to shoot out new roots. I'll leave these guys neglected for a few weeks, months and when I decide to replant, most will already have little roots popping out, they'll be ready for new homes!
Easy to do, gives the bigger guys more room to grow and allows more space for new pups to shoot out!
